Striper Capital of the World-Lake Texoma
Located just an hour north of the Dallas Ft. Worth Airport, Lake Texoma is widely regarded as the premier destination for striped bass fishing in the United States. Famous for its natural striper reproduction and the world’s largest striper spawn, it offers an impressive 10-fish limit and proudly holds the title of striper capital of the world. I have personally enjoyed the thrill of catching my limit with live bait on Lake Texoma, savoring every moment of the experience while realizing there is more to striper fishing than simply waiting in a crowded boat for a bite.

Capt. Tim Smith-Striper Express Guide
I have been fishing all my life on the Texas coast and Lake Texoma since the mid 80’s. I have been guiding with Bill and Chris since 2012. I love this lake and its diversity of shoreline and structure and especially the abundance of hungry Striper! The striped bass is the hardest fighting fish in freshwater!
I love the fact that Striper Express transitioned to “lures only” some 20 years ago, as that is my forte. I love casting Swimbaits, throwing top water lures, “dead sticking” in the winter and slab fishing in the summers.
Always enjoy sharing my passion for fishing with others. If you’re interested, we will also do a bit of an educational trip as to where and why the stripers are at different times of the year. And which techniques works best for that time of year. In addition, I have both Lowrance and Humminbird 12-inch screens on my boat to show you what the fish look like underwater. Come join us for a great fishing experience!
Capt. Mj-Striper Express
I grew up a small town on the Texas Coast. I spent most of my time Saltwater Fishing in the Bays. Fishing is a way of Life down there. As I got older my passion for fishing grew. I spent a lot of my time with my Grandfather at Lake Somerville fishing the Ponds, Creeks and the main Lake with Artificial Lures. Eventually my passion for artificial lures spilled over into the world of Saltwater. Realizing I longer had to use live bait to fish for The fish I wanted to catch. Honing my skills as a young man I became very proficient with lures. When I moved to the Dallas area in 1990’s I discovered the Great Lake Texoma and the Striped Bass, the Fish that had the fight of a Redfish. I have spent a lot of time networking on fishing forums, researching online, reading fishing magazines, meeting new people and pro-guides. Helping with big group trips for I have been fishing Texoma full time since the late 90’s. Almost all of my jobs have had a three to four day work week so that has allowed me to make my Hobby and Passion into my own Guide Business. I joined the Striper Express guide team in 2014 and transitioned to full time guiding. Time flies and I’m in my 15th year of pro-guiding. It never gets old. This is what I was born to do!
